Laura was born September 17, 1897 in Bethel, CT. Her parents were, John "Johan" G. Kempe and Maria "Mary" C Holmes.
Laura would ultimately marry my maternal Grandfather, Eugene B. Reed.

Maria (Mary Holm) Kempe
Mary passed away in Danbury, CT hospital at the age of 50 years old from stomach cancer.
Sisters

Laura and Nellie Kempe were sisters and the daughters of John and Mary Kempe. Nellie was six years older than Laura. Nellie born 1891 and Laura 1897. Both growing up at 8 Hickock Ave. in Bethel, CT.

Although they loved each other dearly. I remember Laura, my grandmother, telling of the time that Nellie sued her for falling on the walkway or steps of the house for $100.00.
Laura said, "She fell at the house she grew up in for crying out loud. You would think she knew the steps by then."

John and Mary Kempe
Mary was married to Johan (John G) Kempe and had two children, Laura and Nellie.Â
They lived at 8 Hickock Ave in Bethel, CT.Â
Eugene Reed and Laura Kempe ultimately lived in the house and their children were born there too.

John came to the US in 1882 and Mary and her mother Anna Holms came to the US from Sweden in 1888.
